Privacy Policy
Inkproof is an Android app (package app.inkproof.android). You photograph your skin, we generate a realistic tattoo overlay, and you can export a stencil. It is for people 18 and older.

What we collect
Inkproof has no user accounts and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name or email address to use the app.
- App user ID and 18+ confirmation. An anonymous app user ID (created by RevenueCat, our purchase provider) that keeps track of your free preview, purchases and credits. The app shows it as your Support ID in Settings. We also keep your confirmation that you are 18 or older.
- Photos and designs. Skin photos you upload and designs you create or choose.
- Overlays and stencils. Generated try-on images and stencil files.
- Device and app data. Device type, operating system, language, app version, IP address / approximate region, and crash logs.
- App activity. That the app was installed and opened, and two in-app actions: when a try-on result is shown and when the paywall opens.
- Advertising ID and Meta app ID. Your device’s Android advertising ID and an anonymous ID the Meta SDK creates for this app. Both are collected when you open the app.
- Purchases from Google Play: what you bought (plan or credit pack), the price, currency and date. We do not receive your full card number.
We do not ask for your legal name. If a face appears in a photo, that face is part of the upload we process. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write.
Photos and AI
When you try on a design, Inkproof sends your photo and the design to fal.ai and Google Gemini so they can return an overlay and a stencil. Any text prompt you type is sent along with your photo to fal.ai and Google Gemini to generate your design and preview, and those providers keep prompts and photos for up to 30 days. We do not sell your photos. We do not train our own models on them.
fal.ai. We use fal.ai on a paid API account. fal’s API terms say they will not use client content to create, train, or develop their products or services, except for models they mark as excluded (we do not use those). fal does retain request data to run the job: by default, request payloads are stored for about 30 days, and uploaded and generated media files are stored on their CDN until they expire or are deleted.
Google Gemini. We use the Gemini API on Google’s unpaid (free) tier, with no Cloud billing enabled. Google’s unpaid Gemini API terms say Google uses the content you submit—including photos and files—and the generated responses to provide, improve, and develop Google products, services, and machine learning technologies. Human reviewers may read, annotate, and process that input and output. Do not upload a photo you would not want processed this way.
Generated images are a preview, not a substitute for an artist.
Ads and measurement (Meta)
Inkproof contains no ads. The app does not show ads from Meta, Google or anyone else, and we do not use Facebook Login.
Inkproof advertises itself on Facebook and Instagram. To find out whether those ads work, the app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK from Meta Platforms, Inc.
When you open the app, the Meta SDK sends Meta:
- app install and app open events, plus two in-app events: “try-on complete” and “paywall view”;
- your advertising ID and the Meta SDK’s anonymous app ID;
- device and network details such as device model, screen size, operating system and app version, language, time zone, mobile carrier and IP address;
- a crash or “app not responding” report if the Meta SDK itself causes one. Meta says these reports do not contain user data.
RevenueCat, our purchase provider, also tells Meta from its servers when a purchase happens (a trial start, subscription, renewal or credit-pack purchase, with price and currency). It matches the purchase to the ad using your advertising ID or the Meta SDK’s anonymous app ID.
We do not send Meta your photos, designs, prompts or generated images.
We use this data to count the installs and purchases that came from our ads and to help Meta show our ads to people who may find Inkproof useful. Meta also uses it under its own Privacy Policy. Some US state laws call this “sharing” for “targeted advertising.” We do not sell your personal information.
Our ads on Meta are set to reach only people 18 and older.
Purchases
Your first on-skin preview is free and watermarked. More previews need a weekly or yearly subscription or a credit pack. Payments go through Google Play Billing, and Google’s Privacy Policy applies to them. We use RevenueCat to check what you bought and unlock it. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription status, and basic device details (such as operating system, app version and IP address / country). See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy. We do not receive your full card number.
How we use information
We use this information to create overlays and stencils, enforce the 18+ gate, process purchases and unlock what you bought, measure and improve our own ads on Meta, investigate crashes and abuse, and provide support. We do not sell personal information.
Who we share with
We share information with the services that make the app work and that measure our ads:
- Google Play and Google Play Billing (app distribution and purchases)
- RevenueCat (purchase and subscription processing)
- Meta Platforms (measuring and delivering our ads: app events, advertising ID, device details, SDK crash reports, purchase events)
- fal.ai (photo and design processing)
- Google Gemini (photo and design processing)
- Google Firebase (app backend and hosting)
We may also share information if the law requires it. Processors may be outside your country. Our hosting is in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Photos and generated images until you delete them, and no longer than 30 days after last use.
- App user ID and purchase status in RevenueCat until you ask us to delete your data.
- Purchase records typically 7 years for tax and fraud purposes.
- Diagnostics for a short window needed to fix crashes and abuse.
- Data Meta receives is kept under Meta’s own rules. See Meta’s Privacy Policy.
Your choices
- Delete a photo or generation in the app when that control exists.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID. On most phones: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, then Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID. On some older versions: Settings → Privacy → Advanced → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization. Menu names vary by phone maker. After you delete it, apps get a string of zeros instead of your ID. The Meta SDK may still send app events with its anonymous app ID. To stop the app from collecting anything, uninstall it.
- If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, you can manage how Meta uses activity from apps and websites in Meta’s ad preferences.
- Ask us to delete your data (see below or /delete).
- Email sparkys.inkproof@gmail.com.
Data deletion. Email sparkys.inkproof@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my Inkproof data”. Because Inkproof has no accounts, include your Support ID, which you can find in the app’s Settings, so we can find your records. If you bought anything, you can also include your Google Play order number (it starts with “GPA.”), but this is optional. We delete the photos, generated images and other data we hold about you, and we also delete your customer record in RevenueCat, except records the law requires us to keep. We cannot delete data Meta has already received from Meta’s systems ourselves. Deleting or resetting your advertising ID breaks the link to you, and you can contact Meta through its Privacy Policy.
Kids
Inkproof is 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. Our ads on Meta are set to 18+.
Security
We use encryption in transit and limit access to personal information. Do not upload a photo you would not want processed by our providers.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top.
